When bills tighten up, some of the luxury's got to go. We had cable net service since it was partially paid for by my wifes employer. But the job was going bad, so we decided to have her quit. We've done without before. We'll do it again. As some of the Moms on this sight can probably say, raising the kids is job # 1. Her job started as a from home job only. Then they kept wanting her to come in more and more. It couldn't happen and it was stressing her. So she's much more chill now and all is better. But again, we gotta cut things. So I'm on dial-up now which feircely SUCKS. Anyway, I'm just letting youns know in case you try to contact me or if we have deals in the works. I promise I'm still here. But getting online now is a 50/50 shot, so please be patient. Thanks,

    Dial up really stinks. :(

Dial up here. AT&T speeded mine up 3 weeks back which helped compared to the old setup. Still not like the high speed stuff, but much cheaper. I always have been on dial up, so I never experienced the good stuff on a regular basis. Guess it is tough after being lightning fast!!!

  6. That's a bummer Dan, sorry to hear that. There are a couple things you can do here on the board to improve moving around on the forums. In your "usercp" pages, you can change your settings so that avatars do not load, and I believe you can also do a similar deal with images in posts, and disable smilies. All those things make the board pages load slower if they are enable. I do this sometimes at work, when our wireless connection is acting up. Sucks, but I would rather have the speed.

I think dial-ups and Ford's have this in common: while they may perform OK, they sure are slow!

    hehehehehehehe

I feel your pain man. When AOL dumped the satellite users it took about a week before I decided to get DSL. I'm so spoiled. I'll keep my fingers crossed for Mrs. Dan to find a better stay home job soon. Tickle those kidlets for me.

I hope my new "crib" is cable internet accessible. I'm pretty sure it is though. I'll know when I move in at the end of the month...

Sorry you had to go back to dialup. It's not so bad if you're not trying to load pics all the time. But that's a hard thing to do on this site:laugh: How fast is your modem?

    To help cope with dialup:

    1) Tell v8buick.com to not show the avatars- it is in your options somewhere. They use a lot of bandwidth.

    2) Instead of Internet Explorer, download Mozilla and learn how to use tabs- they ROCK. You can conveniently have one page loading while you are reading another. That is VERY useful on this site! You won't even miss your faster connection.
