alrighty how do i get the u joint out that connects to my rearend... i tried putting an old socket over the one end attached in the yoke and hit it but she wont budge can yah help me out?
Are you trying to take the driveshaft off? If you are pry the driveshaft forward by inserting a large screwdriver, bar or something similar in the middle of the yoke (on the rear end) and middle of the u-joint it will move forward. Of course this is after the straps and 4 bolts are removed from the yoke. Ray
Oh, the u-joint caps are either held in place by c-clips on the inside of the driveshaft or nylon. If there are no c-clips try to heat that end of the drivesaft up with a torch around the caps on the driveshaft. You should see nylon oozing out of a small hole in the end of the drive shaft if it is held in by nylon then knock u-joint out. Of course you should always try not to damage the driveshaft.
