Hello, I am to try a 455 into my skyhawk with 4 spd saginaw. My question is will I need to modify the driveshaft to a hvy duty, for torque of the 455, and will any one tell me if the small saginaw will hold up to the 455? not sure if same as earlier skylark saginaw, this is a 79 Roadhawk, 4spd. send in put and any tranny advice, craig

May be a long shot here, but I'm guessing you'll never get traction enough to stress the trans, driveshaft or the rear end! :3gears:

actually, the saginaw will not withstand the torque.

I guess the first question should be, what do you intend to do with the car?
