Larry, do you want to sell your loop?

cray1801 Too much is just right.

Here's another view of the Metco loop installed, just did this today. A Bench seat car can be done in 20 minutes, no removal of anything except the driveshaft.

Nice job Craig? What did the loop run you? Did you get it straight from Metco or another source? This seems like a no-brainer that I must do. Did you upgrade the U joints while you were at it? How hard is it to remove the drive shaft? Did the trans leak when you pulled out the shaft? I know sometimes that happens. Or at least I thought it did. :Dou:

Hi Ken. I had upgraded the drive shaft with the new build and softer tires a few months back. I have a Driveshaft Specialist 3.5" steel shaft with new joints now. I had no leakage out the tailshaft, was ready with the pan however.

I ordered the loop direct from Metco (MDL-1100), retail is $69.99 plus shipping (for me that was $11.84). Their phone number is 864-332-5929. She, feels better too...since she found out I'm going 120 mph.

Yeah, I do hate that.....but, his one is different, it looks to be elevated off the body a bit (or something?). Hope it does not hit the top of the drive shaft, and could make it hard to re-insert the drive shaft. Keep us posted on how it fits/works.

Not only that, I think the one in that link from JDS performance is for different bodies. It looks nothing like the ones mounted in this thread. I would double check because it looks like this one from Summit (which looks like the same one in that JDS Performance link) that is for big cars, not A-Body. The one that fits the A-Body has side flanges that are completely symmetrical.

The loop I installed uses the bolts that bolt the transmission crossmember to the transmission. No drilling needed.

Not saying it doesn't work, but some guys don't like to use the ones that bolt to the trans mount because it changes the pinion angle.

Does anyone have a pic (installed or not) of the transmission crossmember with the driveshaft safety loop built into it? I belive its made by Finishline? I need to get a loop in my car.
