I have the SSBC front and rear disc kit for my 72 restolark.. To tell the truth I am not a big fan of the Ford Thunderbird Turbo type rear calipers that was supplied with my kit.
    My kit number is A125-3.

Doing it over I'm not sure that I would change the rear over to disc.. The drums worked fine for the driving that I do.

    My opinion..

i searched and bought on eBay. I wanted a kit that used stock type components. There are several available. I don't have the car running yet, but was happy with how it went together. It was same cost as used a body disc. I got a used proportion valve and a new master cylinder for $38.

Right Stuff Detailing is "get disc brakes". I just installed their drum to disc conversion. I ordered from Ground Up, the Chevelle site. The price was the same, but Ground Up was and is offering drilled and slotted rotors, and or a power booster that has Delco Morane stamped on it for no extra charge. Brake lines dont come with the kit, so its wise to buy the conversion lines. As it turned out, one of the banjo bolts for the brake hose to the caliper, was not drilled proper. It was only cross drilled half way, and was not even drilled the long way, just center drilled. I just drilled it and all was fine. Probably a fluke thing, but worth double checking if your installing one of their kits.

I had 4-wheel drum brakes on my '68. I dogrobbed a '72 Pontiac LeMans from booster to spindles in 2000, it was a great upgrade. All stock (but old) parts. I used that proportioning valve, as well. Still works just fine.

As far as Summit is concerned, whenever people ask me for reviews, I just think if I've heard any negative reviews for the last 10? yrs ive been into cars (wow im gettin old).

And i can honestly say NEVER!

The price is always right, and their stuff has always given me good service. Even the really cheap stuff lasts years. Ministarter, distributor, fittings, springs, sway bars, etc... If its garbage parts their customer service is great. If i was on the same side of the border theyd have WAAAAY more business from me. As it stands now everything is always twice the cost to get to my door, so i buy stuff locally more often.
