I am having great difficulty finding new dual quad air cleaner elements for my 65 GS from the parts houses. Is there anyone out there doing repros yet? I am considering taking a $60 K&N filter unit, trimming it down and re-vulcanizing it to fit in the factory dual snorkle housing. Has anyone tried this? Is it something worth attempting on a limited production run? :Do No:

Joe, when I got mine I either had Car Quest or NAPA get it for me.
They had it in stock in they're main warehouse here in town.
If your not already, tell them you need it for the '65 Riviera with the dual 4's.

    Good luck, Jeff

:( I have tried both Napa and Carquest. Both show this as discontinued/not available. Hence the thought to modify the closest K&N filter to fit. I read somewhere that this is the same filter element that was used in the dual quad 409's and maybe the Pontiac SD 421's. If that is the case, I find it hard to believe that they would not be available somewhere, somehow.:bglasses:

Joe, I just talked to my parts store, and he says he has 4 in the warehouse.
I'm having him bring all 4 in, but I'm not getting excited until I see them. You know it doesn't matter how specific you are, they tend to hear what they want to hear.
I'll check them after the holiday and let you know.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

 Thanks, did he quote you a price? I assume that these can be mailed or FEDXed. I'm interested in two for now.

    Joe, he told me $7.95.
I kept telling him the dual 4's, and he kept saying "yea the 4 brl."
So we'll see if it's correct.

    Later, Jeff

Joe, if it doesn't work out let me know. I have new in box hastings (black rubber lip), about one year old(manufactured, $17 buck ea plus shipping (usually 7 0r 8 bucks with usps). My understanding is that they have been discontinued. Steve
