Did get your problem figured out?

You just need to get the short rod for dual MS.

It's called the Master Cylinder Push Rod. I have a 65 service manual and it's no easy task.

you'll need to remove the booster from the car,
    remove the MS,
    disassemble the booster,
remove the lock ring holding the power piston,
remove the power piston with rod,
then you can remove the rod.

The older boosters were never made with a short rod, so you may be SOl unless you want to cut down the rod you have.

I think you'd be better off buying a new booster that comes with both rods id you want power and a dual MS.
