Does anyone know of a shop that rebuilds Dynaflows that is located in so. Wisconsin or N. Illinois. Hope someone can help thanx late chad
Chad, I would just open the yellow pages, and call a few transmission shops. You may get better leads that way.
Yeah, I did that and i found 1 out of about 30 that would try. I called back like 2 weeks later to set up a time and the ol guy retired and no one else wanted the headache. thanx chad
call Lakewood or get a street rod type mag, and look for some one who makes an adapter for a nailhead and a 700r4. I don't know who makes it, but I remember reading about it about 2 years ago. Would be so sweet.
No need to replace with a different transmission Go to the Buick Club of America website at www.buickclub.org and post your question on the Buick Collectible Tech and Restoration Forum. There is at least one BCA chapter in Wisconsin, and there are many Buick owners who know the best Dynaflow experts in their respective areas. It's simply a matter of plugging into the right network of contacts for your area. Good luck! There are still thousands of us driving our Dynaflow-equipped Buicks.
http://www.transmissionadapters.com/53-66_nailhead.htm That link is to a site where the dude sells adapters to mount chevy tranny's to a nailhead. Pricey though. Richard
Too bad your over there... They arent that bad to rebuild.... too bad your not near portland oregon, it would be easy for me. And I am only 40! and not retired!!
I have the rebuild book and your probably right. It doesn't look to awful. My problem is that I work six days a week for between 8 - 12 hrs a day and then go home to my wife and three children (8,4,2). Besides i don't think i would even know what to look for as far as wear is concerened late chad
One of the Best! Call this place: Valley Transmission 909.981.5824 ask for Galo, this guy has been building these transmissions for 40 years. At one point he built 2000+ for the US Navy. (Ask him why! You wont believe what the Navy uses these transmissions for.) I wouldn't let just any ol' transmission shop get their hands on this trans. You may get back a problem worse than you showed up with. Good luck
thanks Vino, thgnax for the info but thanx to another member i've found a shop in ELGIN ill.. This guy may not have built 2000 but he does come highly recommended and has rebuilt quite a number of dynaflows. Thanx again to all that replied. late chad
