I just wanted to thank Dan Jenson and Mark Weymouth for all their help yesterday during a marathon dyno session at Pierce Race Engines. We had a great time "flogging my mouse" over 30 times on the dyno and confirming that it made in excess of 180 horses and 200 foot pounds of torque :Brow: The good news is that they took the hammer out of my hand and showed my how to tune with a broad array of tools: screw drivers, feeler gauges, allen wrenches, and many more exotic and strangly named tools that I hear can be purchased at a mystical place called Sears...... The bad news is, now I gotta change a defective oil pump (71 lbs at 2500 rpm is excessive, I am told) and assemble the car to get ready for Martin ray: while spending the next couple of weekends out of town......... If you ever get a chance to offer up a motor for a Dyno Session, I highly recommend it, heck, Dan and Mark are such nice guys they even let me buy lunch :TU:
Lunch was great Donny and your welcome for buying:Brow: It was a late session but we seem to have gotten a handle on the L79 and it requited itself as a great small block. Here is the teaser for the Corvette guys; we found some very interesting and unpredictable results. Of course you have to wait for the article to find out what we mean! I think it may even apply to the various Z car owners. Thanks Donny for letting me participate. It was enjoyable to say the least. Now what cylinder is the back one on the left again?:moonu: Don't let Donny fool everyone he knows which end of the hammer to use. Here's to seeing Donny doing this :3gears: at Martin. While laying down some new personal bests. Mark
Can we at least get a hint of how much was gained from the first pull, to the final pull after the "hammer tuning"?o No:
