Early GS For 65? Or Clone?

    bodies have a sequential number just like VINs. your sequential is 296936. the sequence should have started at 100001 at the highest so you're looking at a body that was built well into (almost 200,000 units) the 65 model year.

    your body number is 65-44427 which is correct for the V8 skylarks.

    198 is the black vinyl bucket seat interior.

    VV is monotone Shell Beige paint.

    my book doesn't have any other decode info for the body plate and unfortunately the VIN isn't going to tell you specifically which V8 engine is in the car.

    it doesn't need to be mentioned that you should have a 400 in engine bay does it? :spank:

    and you've also got the star wars aircleaner?

    John, I just replied to that thread.....I recently purchased a '65 GS with a build date of 08C.....third week of August. So the car in question could very well be a real GS!.....Bucket seats were a required option on the GS, so there's another item in your favor..... :TU:
