Here we go again gang! It's that time of year! ...The East Coast Regional Buick Meet is taking place once again at beautiful Cecil County Dragway in Rising Sun, Maryland.
There will be Test and Tune all day on Friday, Oct. 8th. Open to ALL makes, so tell your buddies with the Brand-X cars to bring'em on down. There'll be plenty of room for everyone and an unlimited number of runs! We'll also have a Gambler's Race on Friday for all those who are interested.
Saturday, October 9th we will have time trials in the morning, with Buick eliminations in the afternoon, as well as a "Display Only" car show in an area set aside in the pits. ALL cars in eliminations MUST be Buick powered, however, there will be Test and Tune all day on Saturday for Non-Buicks, so if your Brand-X buddies want to stick around for Saturday to make more time runs, they are welcome to do so, so long as they realize they will be run in between Buick runs, as time allows. I hope to see you all there.

Well Bill, you tell me what you'd like to know, and I'll tell ya. If our NE GS/GN Club website ever got updated, I could link you to it to download an event flyer. I know we've done that in past years, but I don't think it'll be possible this year. So Fire Away! I'm sure I can answer whatever you need to know.

Can we camp out at the strip? If so can we get in Thursday night to set up? If we make it out we will be in the motorhome, I have become too cheap to pay for hotel rooms.

    Name of show

with multiple Buick Clubs servicing our needs, show's/regionals/nationals need to addressed with the club that is hosting. East Coast Regional is to generic now, we don't know which club is actually holding these events.

We're Not Generic, we're the real thing!

The 8th Annual East Coast Buick Performance meet is run by the same 3 clubs, (Northeast GS/GN Club, Tri State Buick Club, and the Mid Atlantic Buick club), the same date October 8-9th, and the same place, as as it has been for the previously 7 years, Cecil County Dragway, Maryland. It should be noted for those that do not know, the Northeast GS/GN Club (which is also the Northeast Chapter GSCA) has been established since 1980.

Date is October 8th-9th Friday and Saturday. Friday is all Buick test and tune with Brand "X" test n tune guests. Gates open 9 am. On Saturday all Buick racing along with old timer drag cars. There is no show but a display only on Saturday with some goodies given out to the show guys. We had dropped the show two years back because lack of cars entered.

For those that haven't heard of this event :Do No: :Dou: Cecil County Dragway is one heck of a fast track, running at sea level, and with the good fall weather as we had in previous years it was like running below sea level. The event usually pulls around 100+ Buicks racing. No doubt racers will be running on or better than their best ever quarter mile runs.

Also to mention there is a payout to racers on Saturday. The classes as follows

    All V-8 powered
    Front Wheel Drive
    V-6 & Turbo
    Powder Puff
    Quick 16

Only rules: All vehicles racing in the program MUST be Buick powered.
Pre-Registration fee is $30 per car racing with driver. $50 at the gate for Friday and the same for Saturday. Spectators for each day is $10, under 12 is free.

Any further questions please post them here or call The Northeast GS/GN Hotline at 1-845-528-GSGN.

There's nothing generic about our meet. For those of you that have never attended this meet,I would suggest you go to it-you'll have a blast and your car will run the quickest that it has ever run(in the past few years alone, many of our members have gotten personal bests at this track). For those of us that have gone to this meet for the past 7 years,we have nothing bad to say about it-it is a great event.

This track has been around since 1961,so it's not a no-name track.

As a matter of fact, an ex-Buick dragracer ran at this track for Kenne-Bell.
He ran a Stage 2 V6 Regal back in the early to mid 1980's.

Please support this meet, and make the efforts pay off for those who work so hard to organize an event like this.
    Thank you all.
