    Hi,

I got two 1971-style center caps that don`t fit anymore, parts of the clips came off and now they don`t hold up anymore. Any easy yet clever fix for this issue?

I would buy new retaining clips. You say 71 style? I assume these are the silver centered caps. I think the clips are held on with four screws from the back on these. Others where peened on and more difficult to repair.

I purchased several used centre caps that had good clips. I removed those clips after drilling (drill press) out the peens. I had to then drill my centre caps (purchased new medallions) and installed the used clips with very small screws.

Repro retainers are available with all the clips intact - try Mitch Romanowski here on v8buick. :TU:

    Hello,

This is Mitch Romanowski. I have repro clips available for those 71-72 caps, also a couple NOS chrome bezels only for same. Retainer clips are $12 each. www.buickcenters.com

Hi Mitch, great. Though only 2 are damaged, I think I would order 4 retainers so I'll be on the save side for the times to come. Will send a p.m. later on.

Thank you all for your help

Mitch, do you sell re-pop or rebuilt center caps?

I only offer new reproduction center caps for Skylark A-body and Buick full size. I do have some NOS, but not very many original centers left as NOS is almost non-existent these days. Check out my website at www.buickcenters.com and let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, Mitch

    Little update:
Mitch send these retainers a.s.a.p., great quality, tight fit, so they don`t go into orbit when I`m on it. Thanks Mitch, was nice doing business with you.

The caps I need have the red centers. I have some of the style that you offer, but they have very faded centers.
