Non Buick related.. but trying to help out a fellow gearhead at work (and possibly someone's sale?). Figured the minds here may have a lead on where one of these gizmos may be.

Looking for a rear differential carriage for a 1953 Chevy 3/4 ton. I've been told I need a Eaton HO52. This swap works with *any* GM truck with the HO72 or HO52 axle (1947.2 through the end of the 1972 model year when the axle was discontinued). These two axles share the same center “Carrier” section which interchanges with the HO52 axles found installed in 1968-1972 3/4-ton trucks with automatic transmissions – the ones with the 4.10 ratio ring gears in the carrier section. The receiving truck keeps its complete axle housing and original axles -- just the center carrier section swaps out.

    Simply put:

    HO52 -- Eaton axles used in 3/4-ton trucks from 1947 - 1972
HO72 -- Eaton axles used in 1-ton trucks from 1947-1972
The center carrier interchanges between both axles but NOT with other manufacturer's axles (Spicer, Dana, etc).
The desired (for this upgrade) 4.10 ratio is only found in the HO52 axles used 1968-1972 (3/4-ton trucks with the 350/auto trans combo).

And a bit of light reading here: https://www.stovebolt.com/techtips/axles/1 Ton Upgrade/

    Anyone?
