Ebay just started a private message service that you can access when you log in when they want you to see an alert. I think they are trying to make email alerts obsolete to prevent fraud. I got one the other day. :bglasses:

If I get anything like that I automatically assume it's fake. I usually enter expletives in the username/password fields after I click on the links, I love how you can log in with a user name like "f-you" and the link says "welcome to ebay" on the next page......

    Remember this:

NO real company doing business on the web will EVER email you and ask for your information.

They already have it. It can't get lost in a computer crash because it is backed up nightly. So they'll NEVER ask you to recite your info.

NEVER store your username and password when Windows asks "Do you want me to remember...."

If you even go to a site to screw with them as Artie stated, This info could be found and transfered to them.

No Bank, Credit Card Company, Paypal or other money transfer service, or for that matter ANY site/business is going to ask you to verify information through a web page or Email. They all know this a method of fraud and will not ask you to verify.

ANY TIME YOU SEE THIS, LET A HUGE RED FLAG FLY IN YOUR FACE THAT READS

SOMEONE IS TRYING TO RIP YOU OFF !!!

Received same message two weks ago.
Fired it off to Spoof@ebay. They replied it was not ligitimate & to be very careful.
I'll bet more than one individual has fallen for this.
