anyone have experience putting an electric fan in? was thinkin that it would cool better and maybe fee up a few horses. just a thought :Do No: also, how can you tell if your fan clutch is going out? i heard that when you turn off the engine and it still turns... its toast.

I can't help you with the electric fan but the fan clutch is toast when you, with the engine off, can't turn the fan by hand. Or if it wobbles from side to side or top to bottom.

For maximum cooling, a mechanical fan is hard to beat.

Otherwise, electric fans clean up the engine compartment nicely, and if you usually keep driving (i.e. no traffic jams, etc) they hardly ever come on.
