If I want to bump the grind on my cam I'll need a vacuum pump. Currently running the Straightline 224/236 and pull only 10-12" vacuum (@ 5500' elevation) so anything more would require assist for the power brakes. I found one on the Mopar Tech Pages but it's no longer available from Standard Motor, Rock Auto, or GM, so I'm looking for a stocker from a different car. Trying to avoid a $3-$400 bill and it might be a deal breaker if I can't find one cheaper. Guess I'll be looking for '80s Cadillacs in the yards.

Is anyone using a pump? Work well? Anyone have one they got on the cheap?

    Thanks.

Gary, I run the hemi-killer with power brakes. It's not that bad and only occasionally gets a little "weak" in the brakes.

I have a list of what cars are supposed to have the pump at my pop's place. I will try to get back with you if nobody else does in the next few days. PM me if you haven't heard by tuesday.

    Adam,

My brakes are ok now but I don't want to push my luck if I go with more cam. And since the clip is off and the engine/trans are out of the car, ready for engine cleanup, etc., NOW would be the time to do a cam swap. But then I'm pretty "nuanced" so I might leave it as is. Just poking the coals.
