Hi All, The pin-outs on the side of the tranny. Which is stator and which is kick-down?
    Thanx,

Top one (Horizontal) is the stator or smog switch connection. Bottom (vertical) is the kickdown.

    Larry,
Here is a pic of an original SP400 removed from a 67 LeSabre. Notice top wire is black w/white tracer. All the TH400 I have seen always use the black wire w/white tracer as the downshift wire. Let me know what you think.

    Could be George,
It's easy enough to switch the wires inside, which sometimes happens anyway. On a fixed pitch tranny with no TCS switch, there's only one connector, and that is a vertical connector for the kickdown. My 67 ST-400 has the kickdown on the bottom, but the external wiring is not stock, so no way to tell how it came from the factory. According to the Ron Sessions book, the stator connection is always the horizontal one. Can the whole connector plug be rotated 360*? Then the kickdown would be on the top.

It doesn't matter at the gas pedal switch. One of the yellows, or both should have 12 volts with the key on. The switch just passes that down to the trans. pick a prong and connect a yellow, the other prong gets the black/white. The other yellow probably goes to the radio.
