Where can I find stock engine specs for 350 2bbl engine on 1973 Lesabre? I want to compare it to 350 4bbl.

The emissions stuff really bugs me. I want to remove it all.

I want to switch to a 4 bbl quadrajet, stock manifold with no egr and no AIR port. Will I need to replace the heads too? Were the cams different on 4bbl?

Do y'all think its a sin to modify a car this cherry ? 12000 original miles, original exhaust, original tires, original spark plugs.. etc..Its cherry.

Is it wrong to take out the emissions stuff and change the top half of the engine, install dual exhaust.. etc..??

    Any body ?

    Thanks

    Gary

since you intend to replace the intake/carb anyway just take the whole assembly, along with the stock vacuum lines and emissions crap and set it in a corner and don't worry about. plug the remaining vacuum fittings on the engine. you can always put it back on the car or sell it with the car if it comes to that.

according to Petersen's 'Big Book of Auto Repair' the specs for the 73 Le Sabre's were:
    2v 350 = 150hp @ 3800 / 265 lbft @ 2400
    4v 350 = 175hp @ 3800 / 270 lbft @ 2400

the Le Sabre had 2 options for the 350 and 2 options for the 455 (standard and dual exhaust).

there was a 190hp dual exhaust 350 available that year, but not on the Sabre.

    Compression Ratio

Did you happen to see if there was a different CR? Do you think the block pistons and cam are the same on both 350s?

    Thanks

What stock heads would you suggest from what years and model ?

in 73 all of the 8 cyl buicks were running 8.5:1 (barring stage engines of course).

    the 68 (PP) / 69 (RP) / 70 (SP) code blocks were running 10.25:1 compression with hp #s from 280 to 315.

i'm not really up on the 350s but yeah, i kind of expect that the 73 engines are the same except for the intake/carb and maybe cam (just checked, Petersen's shows identical cam specs for all three 350s available that year). also, i've seen that the later 70s (maybe even your 73) had much stronger connecting rods but i'm not sure when they start.
