Need a car hauler in Florida!

    All,
I will post photo's of the vehicles as soon as I get them home (Presently trying to find a hauler from the Pensacola area to the Tampa Bay area with vehicles that don't run, if anyone knows anyone please send me a message).

I should add that the ad was wrong, there was four 1966 GS's, One 1966 Special, and two 1966 Skylarks that had the GS scoops added to the hoods, all have been sitting for like 10 years, tightly cramped into a warehouse so were even hard to look at/see due to a lack of lighting etc...

I can't wait to get a photo of all of the 66's sitting on a semi though! :TU:

:Smarty: Again, like I stated in the earlier message as soon as I get them home I will rediscover what I have and will go from there on "possibly" selling some of the vehicles and parts and will post here first.

Thanks for all the messages and trust me I am looking forward to showing them off as soon as they are home and washed for the first time in years!

George, thanks for the pics. I figured you probably still had a pretty good stash. Those must be the special hurricane rated covers to keep them from blowing off regularly. :puzzled:

Tom, sounds like a nice haul you got there. I never knew anyone that bought so many cars at once like that. Just think, now your back yard can look like George's!! :TU:

Tom managed to find me a real nice car(see attached) from a fellow V8buick member and now he has a nice collection he will eventually pass some cars/parts on to not only you V8buick members, but also a few nephews. Thankfully I'll get one of the 401's for my 66 when the original 340 gets tired (It already has 130k+, but still going real strong). I've seen some pictures, but getting them down to Tampa/St Pete area will yield alot more clues into what all he has and what is for sale. Stay tuned for more info!!!

Who's going to be at Turkey Rod Run?

    Dan,
If you need a 401, go to the LKQ yard on 40 St just south of Ulmerton Rd.
They have a 63 LeSabre with a 401-2bbl, car is very clean and complete. It is about 15 cars in. Row is labeled 11-08(painted on the side of a champagne colored Saturn) I think the yard gets $150 for a complete engine.

That's a great find.....you've managed to get, in ONE day, what has taken me 29 years to collect!
A garage packed wall-to wall with '66's....Yeah! :TU:

    Whats the story?

    Hi Tom.

I wonder what's the story is about all those Buicks stored tightly in a warehouse. Did someone collect it and then lost interest?
    Does the cars have titles?

I also think it is very funny that a guy in Norway finds out that all these cars are for sale in Florida.

I'm still on if one of the cars is complete and can be exported and we can agree on a reasonable price.
My private mail adress is: jetten@cruising.dk
But how is the climate for storing old cars in Florida, isn't it very humid? Do cars rust a lot down there?

    Hi
I think Its great that someone take care of this cars, there are to many people who sits on nice cars and never wanted to sell them an the they die and the relatives want to sell it, they are to bad to could even restore them.
We have a lot of these histories here in Norway too.
Before 1985 we couldnt import classic cars to Norway because of very high taxes, but today its much better since its not so much taxes when you import a car 30 years and older.

Tomorrow we start traveling against Florida, we will arrive in Miami on Friday evening and we are really looking forward to it :) , especially since we had our first SNOW today. :eek2:

    Titles and all...

Yes, from what I have been told all of the vehicles but one have a title and that one I don't think should be a problem getting a title for if I just pay the proper searching fee's.

I will be there on Friday to pick up the parts and also one of the cars, the rest of the cars will be following me on a car hauler back to the Tampa area.

As for the "why all of those Buicks were locked up in a warehouse" for the very same reason we all come to this site nearly on a daily basis and are all always searching for the "right car"... The father (Dennis) of the woman (His daughter Crystal) I made the deal with just loved 1966 Buick Skylarks and as far as I am concerned he is a very smart man! :beer These cars just seem to grow on you and I am sure you all would agree to that statement!

I should be posting some better pictures within the week but here is a seek preview (It is a pretty lousy photo due to lack of lighting and such) but it does give you a idea on how dirty/dusty they are and that they are not "restored gems" by any means but boy are they ever beautiful in my eyes! :)

Steve & Romy (& everyone else who sent messages)
Thanks for sending your messages and I have every intention of posting pictures and anything I plan to sell will be posted on this site first.

Unfortunately not everyone can just be happy that someone like myself who loves Buicks and is trying to do the right things with these vehicles (Set up a nephew with one, a brother with another, etc...) was able to get them.

I am not a dealer or someone who chops up old cars to sell for parts but "someone" on this site (per what the current owner has just told me this morning) has been constantly bothering the current owners with phone calls trying to get them to back out of the deal with me and telling them just that about myself!

So Mike F. from Massachusetts :af: no matter how hard you tried I still will be picking up "MY" parts and cars tomorrow! :moonu:

Tom, Bill Sangster here. Nice 66's. Glad to see you get them. If I was closer I would help you get them home. The nailheads grow on you. I like all the GS's but have had the same 65 GS for 25 years. I started on the 66 a few years ago and have been parting 3 66 GS's for a year. In thinking back I have only had 7 66's 4 GS's and 3 Skylarks, but in this country if take about 7 to build one good one. Let us know the details on these, are they all hardtops, any stick ones and what are the options. Thanks Bill.

    Tom,
Did you see some Buick nut in a black Chevy x-cab long bed giving you the this :TU: as you were going across the Howard Franklin at noon on Sat?????

I know the guy now that you mentioned his first name. He was a member of our local club and had 15, yes, you read that right 15, 1966 Buick Gran Sports. His name was Dennis Arnold of Defuniak Springs, FL.
I think he had 4 or 5 cars that were 4 spds. I did not hear from him in a few years but we did speak a few times on the phone.

Ok, Tom here is a pic of my truck, see if this rings a bell for you???
