    Volume of a cylinder x 8 = (pi) ( r ) (r) (H) (8)

    H= stroke= 3.850

    r= stock bore plus .o15"=3.80/2 +.030/2= 1.915

    8= number of cylinders

    pi= 3.14159

    total= 354.834 cid when bored over .030

    I've always used this one:

    (Bore) x (Bore) x (stroke) x (.7854) x (8 cyl.)

    1/2 bore x 1/2 bore x Pi (3.1416) x stroke x number of cyls

    Bore: 3.830, 1/2 bore, 1.915

    Stroke: 3.850

    1.915 x 1.915 x 3.1416 x 3.850 x 8 = 354.84537

    Do-able in both cubic inches and cc's.

    (OK, nit pick about a fraction, but it all comes out virtually the same, 355 cubes).

    Perhaps a slight discrepancy arises because you may have inadvertently misrounded the number for pi up a notch.

    pi=3.14159265 ......
