Finally getting my 455 put back into one piece and its time to start thinking exaust.I think im going to go with ported stock manifolds the car is a 69 cali gs.with exaust is bigger better ?
I am super pleased with my TorqueTech system. 2 1/2" mandrel bent with X pipe fit super and was so easily installed, the exhaust shop only charged me $50 labor to weld it up. It sounds very nice and looks great. I have not heard a bad word about TT, but then again, I have not about any other systems. The TT tailpipes are not cut at the proper angle, but I think I can handle that easily when I am ready. By the way, I am running a 455 with manifolds that I will have ported eventually. Mike
My Torque Tech experience I bought a Torque tech system, the 2.5" version. I did not get the X or H pipe, just the dual system with the Dyno Max mufflers. The customer service is not too good - no e mail confirmation or shipping tracking number. I had to call them 2 weeks after I placed the order to find out where it was. Then, they just threw everything in a big box. 2 of the pipe ends were bent from shipping. I would guess that they spent about 30 seconds in the shipping box design. So, prepare for damage if you buy from them. Also, they are super religious, and inject their views on you in communications. That may or may not be an issue with you, but I found it annoying. The drivers side fit perfect, but the passenger side needed some bending to fit and not hit the floor board. They did not respond to my request to get another passenger side pipe. I would not use them again.
I bought an entire 2.5 system (minus muffs) from T/A nine years ago. Couldn't be happier with it. Tailpipes are properly cut at angle. Still looks new. Came with all hardware.
Paul I have to say that although Keith is a nice guy the same kind of thing happened on my last purchase. I ordered turned down tips which is as close as they offer to the originals and they came turned straight out the back like a Chevelle. They did not respond to my protests. Before that I had other transactions with them that went well.
I also use a Torque Tech 2.5"mandrel system with Super Turbo mufflers and turn down style tailpipes.Not overly loud at all. :TU: And Keith has always been polite and helpfull with me in the past o No: Later,Tony.
This just blows my mind. I talked to them a couple of different times and they were super nice. I had no problem with shipping, and was super prompt to get them out to me. With regaurds to the set that did not fit properly, maybe it was due to not being put on the vehicle properly. I only say that due to the necessity to start from the back and work forward, cutting each pipe where needed. I know mine went in very easily and no problems. Mike
