Dominick, I do agree with you about the looks of the new Silverados, as for the rear drum brakes, I work at a Chevy dealer and am happy to see the drums return, GM has never built a rear disc brake that was worth a crap and the previous years of the Silverado back up that fact!

I drive a 2007 Silverado 1500 everyday. All day. I do have 4 wheel discs, because I have the 6.0, and they stop fine.

The regular 1500's with rear drum brakes stop fine too. (I have a 2006 GMC Sierra 1500 with disc/drum also).

Discs do fade less, but drums have way more contact area.

    Either is fine IMO.

For the most part they operate ok, but the depending on what part of the country your in, the backing plates will rot off, the rear rotors will rust to the point that they can't be machined, you'll have to beat them off the parking brake shoes, and they ALWAYS wear out the pass. side inner pad first!

Ask anybody that had a 90's "W" car what they thought of thier rear disc brake set-up. Hell they made a special bit for air hammers just to get the slides out of the calipers.

Keith, thanks for posting those pics! Awesome cars. Especially that black GTO! I looked at them so much yesterday morning that I was a few minutes late to work!

You guys in Michigan have the coolest car shows!:beers2: Very nice. Was that an invitational?

Sorry - I didn't mean to make you late for work...

Yes - it was "invitation only".
