Just in case you guys haven't seen down in the Pure Stock Forum area, Greg Gessler is BLISTERING the track down in Georgia right now. :beer For those that don't know, Year One is offering a $1000 bounty for the first F.A.S.T. car in the 10's. While all the Hemi and Chevy boys were bantering back and forth on who was gonna be the first to get there, cool and calm Gessler shows up to continue to show that there is more left in the 'ole Buick. Congrats to Greg ! All that out of a QJet powered wedge motor !! WOW !! :TU:
WOW !!! That's totally amazing! I can't believe what he can do while still looking like a stocker! I will probably never be that fast with all my modified stuff! The ZL1's and Hemi's and Xers gotta be going nuts right now!
11.17! Totally awesome run by Greg in his 72 Stage 1. That BBB is taking no prisioners in the FAST class! You know the Buick will be the first to break into the 10's. There is a FAST race at Englishtown, NJ on Nov.13th And we should all (east coast guys) hook up to check out the action and support this really fast Buick!
:TU: I'll be there wearing my Buick Colors. Bringing my Mopar buddy along to watch as the Buhog whips up on some of his brand.
Greg, did a great job carrying the buick banner for all of us. I drove 6 hours one way to watch the race. Met a lot of cool gearheads in the FAST class-Andrew and his 69 vette, Joel in his '67 Hemi GTX, Tom Cannon in his T/A, Keith's friend with the '69 Firebird, David Dudek with his '70 Hemi car, Steve somebody with a gorgeous blue '70 Hemi Challenger R/T. Congratulations to Greg!!! He did a great job!
Wow,Greg-Congratulations! I cannot believe that the same exact tires that I have on my Stage 1 have the ability to run that fast.Simply incredible! Nice work Greg! :TU:
Too Cool Greg :bglasses: Thats quite an accomplishment, you really carry the Buick torch high & proud :beer In Salem I heard some of the NE gang talking about super secret race tactic they referred to as the "Gessler Leave" :3gears: :Brow: It must work based on your results :beer Attaboy :TU: D.
The "Gessler Leave" is not top secret - it was published in a national magazine for all to read ou: Making it work on polyglass repro's and going deeeeeep into the 11's is another story I'd like to thank all the Non-Buick guys for appreciating and respecting Greg's awsome accomplishments. A Classy bunch of guys to not be complaining but instead respecting his efforts :TU: :beer :TU: FOUR years in a Row !!
Great going Greg! I proposed the "bounty" idea a while back. If E-town has some good air Nov 13....it might happen! 0W-20 oil and trans fluid in the rear. :Brow: Bruce
Thanks for the kind words guys. It was a great weekend, and that 11.17 pass was just as shocking to me as it was to some of the other guys, I really didn't expect that. I ran some 11.30's at my home track Island Dragway but then I installed 75lb's of rollbars to the car. I was hoping the car could still run some 30's with the bar. Most of my runs during the race were in the 11.30's, but that 11.17 right off the trailer was really awesome. Oh, just because I currently have the quickest 'offical' FAST run, don't think that I have the fastest car out there. There are several cars that can (and will) run a better number than that, they just haven't been able to put it together at a FAST race. On my 11.17 pass, everything fell into place and worked perfectly.
I'll be there to check out the action and shoot some FAST video. Just a note, the Nov. 13th race at E-Town should be a great event, and a much overdue heads up muscle car race for the great Northeast. Some already know this, but it will be a FAST style race, but is not being put on by the original and official F.A.S.T. organizers. Should still be an awesome event, but official F.A.S.T. records cannot be set that day.
Awesome! Greg, you make us Buick folks proud! And make the others, take another look at what a Buick really can do! Great Job! I'm proud to wear the F.A.S.T. t-shirt! RV
