Greetings Buick Fans, I have a friend that has a set of spindles, rotors and calipers from a 1972 Camaro. He said I can have them if they would work on my 71 Skylark. I can't quite figure out if they will work. I was going through the PST catalog and some of their kits show it works for my Skylark and for the Camaro/Nova, but other kits don't. I am really confused and hoped someone could explain which models spindles and rotors would interchange with my 71 "A" Body. Thanks, ray:
I had a list once of what would work for a disc brake conversion for A-bodies. It stated that 64-72 A-bodies could use 67-69 camaro and 68-74 nova spindles. I'm not certain what the variances are on the later model Camaros. I do know from experience that the 78-87 G-body spindles are metric and will not swap over. I did swap S-10 spindles onto my wife's 65 El Camino, but I had to swap upper and lower ball joints, as well as the outer tie rods. -Josh
just bolt them on you will need disc brake hose frame tabs and hoses s-10 brakes are g body spindles so the will work too
If I purchase a new set of spindles, can I use the rotors, calipers and back plates from a 71 Camaro?:idea2:
Do they make a kit without swapping spindles? If so who and how to get a hold of them? Thanks George.
