It does look a little big........... Not sure it could be as they said the car only handled so-so even with the heavy duty suspension. Funny thing is when the same magazine drive tested the GSX in another issue they said how well the car handled. High Performance Cars magazine said the GSX was the best handling muscle car they had ever tested with the same suspension. Could the big tires have made that mush difference?

    Dave,
My point was if a larger sway bar had been added and the car was owned by Buick, chances are they would have installed a new sway bar, bushings and brackets.

That's why I figure the brackets were bright, because they were NOS like the other parts.

That is a good thought. Another Bill Trevor trick maybe.

I'm coming out with some black WATER-BASED paint:laugh: Spray it on before the big show and hose it off when you get home. Best of both worlds! Hmmm....might be on to something here.

That was exactly what I said to Dave while reviewing his sheet.

DL, Mine are bare silvery metal. I clear coated them. This is the way they came in the NOS bag from GM with a little rust on them. I know that NOS is not always indicitive of assembly line original but it is possible that had different supplers or runs. I still have one left. They came 5 to a bag?? GM accountants had something to do with this I am sure. Dorks!

Below is the NOS sway bar bracket which is either bare steel or zinc. Tough to tell. It is next to an NOS 70 power steering bracket which is gray Phosphate for contrast.

On my cars, I paint all the parts black (shocks, all steering components, spindles, driveshaft, complete rearend including yoke, stab. bars and brackets, backing plates, control arm bushings, etc.)
And in the end, it now looks like everything painted black is maybe actually more correct, at least on the Buicks. But I bet alot of concours Buick guys will cringe if and when they see the bottom side of my 72 Stage 1 conv. "undetailed" with all black.:puzzled:

Black is black, I want my baby back. Imagine the assembly line workers laughing at us now.
