Factory hood tach?

    tubecatgs Finally a 4 speed......

    A 72 GS I am looking at has this hole in the hood for a hood tach. He was thinking the odd shape of the cut out might indicate it was a factory installed tach? I have never seen this.. thoughts? Sorry for the bad pic it is a screen shot fron a video. Thanks

    No, the factory hole is a nice smooth large circle. That's a hack job that was done after the hood left the factory. Appears they drilled a lot of small holes?
    A factory hood tach is a very rare option on a '72 so the chance of it being original are slim.

    Yeah that's what I was thinking but the cuts/edges are triangles. Thanks

    Accordoing to the Buick Daily Car Reports, 0f the 8,575 GS cars built, only 30 left Flint with a hood tach (29 hardtops, 1 convertible). Thanks for Mike Trom. for this bit of data.
