I'd like to propose an area on this board that would list more of the common "hard to find" parts and their associated "fair market value". I'm "new" (three years) to the Buick Bug and just turning the corner on finishing my '70 GSX clone bracket racer. I've yet to get a firm grasp on what certain items are worth. As a whole I've been very fortunate in keeping my project very respectable in terms of period correct and within financial grasp. I'm sure one goal of this board is to continue to find additional ways to economically welcome new blood into the world of hi-performance buicks. $1100+ grilles and $300.00 taillights and 500.00 catch cans will make the uneducated Buick (read new) observer turn elsewhere. To clarify "economically welcome"... I'm merely proposing this board objectively list the criteria that it would recommend certain pieces fetch. (Something along the lines of a "bluebook") If a grille is fair market valued at $1100.00 +/- $200.00, so be it. I'd just prefer that the "elders" of the board/club, - moderators provide us newbies with some more organized and available guidance. Ideally this would serve as a much better resource for those that are serious about the sport and being an actual part of the "Buick family". If a prospective seller disagrees or wishes to test the water, let 'em E-bay. Another thought. For whatever reasons I can't seem to get myself to part with the $35.00 to join the BPG... It's more associated with being a chronic bohemian procrastinator than anything else. Perhaps my suggestion could be part of a "members only" section designed to "persuade" new members to contribute to the wealth of info here. I'm done rambling. John, I like your idea. At least in the sense that it could be applied. I think the BPG Board would be a good place for it as it would be just another of many benefits of membership. JOIN UP! :beer
