Yes, it's for a 69 396 Chevelle.. exactly the same setup as we have for the PS equipment. A direct fit, box mounting, rag-joint, hoses, pitman arm.

No fuss, no muss, no fooling around..

Works good, feels about "right"... a performance ratio, but not like driving a go cart either.

The ones I have installed have been just short of 3 turns, lock to lock. Nice feel with a 15" sport wheel.

I have used several of them, only had one that I had to return.. no pwr assist to the RH direction in that one.

Such as it is with reman stuff.

You will have to mask/blast/coat for concours appearance.

Bolt right in on a driver.. they are painted black.

I decided to turn the steering wheel from one end to the other with the car in Park, and I think it was about 2 turns, does that mean I already have the fast-ratio box?

May be a fast ratio box but what about the stops? The number of turns of the steering wheel does not give you a ratio. Only 2 turns on the wheel would indicate the stops are not right for the car.

I'm Pretty sure stock box ratio is 16:1 constant
the 69 chevelle is a variable rate 13:1 to 16:1 AGR has this type of box too

Lee performance has the best built box around which you can get in 12.7:1 in either the 600/670 box or the 800 box

ATS is a lee specific built box just slightly different valving, just as good perhaps better if cheaper

    DSE is another great box

If you wanted something different you could do a fast ratio 525 manual box(16:1) with UniSteers Electra-Steer kit and perhaps a smaller wheel 14-14.5"
If you go with a constant 12.7:1 ratio box stick with the stock sized steering wheel
