how bout some pictures of these fast Regals? I'm in the process of building one and would love some photographic motivation... it's been a long winter!
FCOOFRAZ3,I gutted the Doors,Trunk Lid,and removed the Interior along with using fiberglass bumpres, aluminum driveshaft. Why are you intrested in racecar combos? Do you have one/working on one? This 83-T type started off stock with a warmed over 430 droped in and ran the best of 11.20,never slower than 12.0.The G body car really responds well to the power to weight ratio of a BBB.:3gears: Regards,fastest430
I dont know if he is building one but I am. I've been removing weight where I can but still maintaining a "stock appearence". So far I've removed all the A/C and heater stuff, the radio, soun deading material etc... I gutted the radio and heater controls so they look stock but they are fake. I'm adding fiberglass hood, deck lid, and bumpers. My goal is to retain a stock appearence but be as lite as possiable. I started with a rust free GN with a fresh ppaint job so half the battle is already done. I will post some pictures up soon.
Don't for get about the magical hole saw Don. That thing does wonders. Here's a pic of your pre-striped Regal from last year at the GS Nationals. The car weighed in at 2910 then...
Yeah I am currently building another one. I had one a few years back and let it get away from me. I really want to get my car down to around 2600 pounds this time. I was planning on cutting the floor all the way up to the firewall and replacing it with aluminum. Moving the frame rails in 2 inches on each side to put the 29.5/10.5ws on it. But want to retain the stock appearance.
LMAO Bobb i wish its that with out my big self im Close to 3800 with me in it maybe i need to come up there and borrow your plasma cutter and get to chopping.
LOL All you want Scott. If you remove weight as much as you can from all parts of the car, it allows you to put it where you need to to make the chassis as efficient as possiable. Obviously I'm building my car for a stock appearing class, hence the detail it requires. ou: I dont blame you if you dont understand, you've probably never owned a fast car before. I'm sorry, that was rude. You do own a fast car. I remember now, you just got that speeding ticket didnt you.
 keep up the good work Heavy D. Post some pics too if you can. I'm starting to get the Regal itch as a next project maybe???? would be nice next to my 71 Skylark
