Ive finally got my first - 72 lark

my honda now sits all by itself undriven (till it freezes that is)

    Im very happy - it has a smallblock 350 2bbl w/ 350 turbo shifter

Its not a GS but was ordered with the buckets/console and an upgraded grille.
It has 16"/15" buick rally wheels and rally tires

-My first question is if its worth adding lakewood no hop traction bars in the rear....

Ill be asking alot of questions and am a V8 newB so please be patient

    thanks all - EleetLark

Hi Eleet - you may want to post at least your first name - we're a friendly bunch and like to know who we're talking with.

No-Hop bars should only be needed if from a dead stop, under full throttle you feel the rear wheels hop violently. You'll know if its doing it or not - its a pretty obvious thing.

Some people cure this by "Boxing" their rear lower control arms. The arms are like a "U" channel and boxing them adds a plate, welded across the open part. You can also purchase boxed arms if you cant / dont want to weld your own.

Wheel hop can also be casued by old rear bushings in the lower or upper control arms.

If you're getting wheel hop, and your bushing are bad, the first thing to do is change the bushings. Sometimes this is enough to cure it.

Ask LOTS of questions - but use the search feature first as there is ALOT of knowledge already stored withing the V8Buick Databases.

Welcome.....and Congrats on your new Pride and Joy !! :beer

If anyone is in the area please feel free to let me know of it as
in I am very new to the v8 scene and would love to apprentice a

Bryan that is a beauuutiful car!! It looks a lot like Nate's (tlivingd) car, except his is a convertible. That shade of blue really stands out on a car like that! Keep 'er clean.
