Heres a few (cheap cell phone) pics of the paint progress on my 68 skylark. Im excited to finally see it in color! The past couple of years its been sitting while I slowly stripped it down, replaced some metal along the lower windshield, and a small spot on the lower fender, door, and rear wheel well. Also closed up all trim holes along the side. I decided I liked it better without. It looks much better in person, it came out real straight. the pics are fuzzy and dont show color correctly but its a platinum met silver (Subaru). should be ready to bring home by the weekend! The girl loves to help
Congratulations, Looks great! Thats a nice color. :TU: Someday maybe I'll be able to make a similar post.
Thanks man, I've owned it for 15yrs and feels good to finally see real progress. got a little girl now, want to finish it so we can enjoy it together
What a difference a few very thin coats of paint make! Looks great. now comes the nerve racking task of putting all the trim on it and not scuffing the paint.
Thanks for the good words guys. my little 2yr old absolutely loves being in the garage helping me out with the car. Stripping the car was the best seeing her go crazy with the sanding blocks. Now I have to teach her that sandpaper stays far away!! Im hoping to have it mostly back together and drivable before summers up I have the rebuilt seats and new carpet sitting up stairs ready to go. Headliner is being redone as we speak. All black interior. Still need to find and purchase window fuzzies, weather strip for doors/trunk and have a few pieces to SEM black for the interior. It will be nice to get out of the lady's hair and get busy in the garage again!
Dang that looks clean. Good job :TU: I'm afraid to have mine painted (not that it's ready by a long shot). It's just that every time I get a car painted, it becomes a magnet for every idiot to park as close as they can and ding/scrape it.
a couple more pics, shes coming along! cleaned and installed all lights, rear bumper. cleaned and sprayed SEM trim black for the core support fresh black carpet installed (no pic yet) with sound deadener and underlay headlight surrounds painted and installed new door locks and handles installed :TU: And as always, my little love is there to help!!
Very nice! Love to see a car come back together especially when its all lookin so good! Love the little helper too. My son is 2 and he's turning out to be my little buddy in the garage too.
