Hey All, I just bought a 67 Skylark conv't and I'm trying to piece together some of its history. First, I'm trying to find the build sheet. I've heard that it is located above the gas tank, so to get it, you have to drop the tank--is that true? Also, I'm trying track down the dealership from which it was originally sold, any suggestions for getting that information? Any other suggestions for piecing together the cars history is much appreciated. Thanks!
Pete, Try checking under your seats and carpet. Also behind the rear seat back is a popular spot. Behind the door panels, under the dash are all possible spots. Rolled up in the A pillar trim is another.. BTW, I moved this thread to "Th Paper Trail" forum:TU:
Adam, thanks for moving this to the "paper trail." You know I'm the new guy around here so I'll get it all figured out soon enough.
Yes, you must drop the tank! And that is the only spot I have heard of for the build sheet. The Fischer Body Final sheets can be found up under the dash near the steering columb, under drivers carpet, behind door panels, in the springs of seats (usually the back seat), or NOT at all.:ball: Basically, look everywhere...:Brow: The Fischer Sheets do not list every option, just the ones installed at the body plant, or preparations for specific options for later at the assemby plant.:TU: I forgot to addou: the dealership info is on the protect-o-plate, if it is still in the glove box.:bglasses:
UNder the Pkg Tray Under the Pkg tray is where I have had the best luck finding the build sheets. Good Luck JA
