I don't think you'll need to register again. gsgnnut, Let me reach out to Paul and see what the deal is.
Gassed up. Fluids checked. Tires checked. Wheel stud torque checked. GPS programmed. Nothing appears to be about to fall off... ready to roll! This will be my furthest outing in the Electra to date. I think it's ready! Going to be a crisp morning start as we're under a frost advisory. Rest of the day looks to be about perfect! Famous last words btw - I am absolutely hopeless at remembering names. My brains wiring is a bit jumbled. Cheers! Bob
Overall, I'd say Buick Run #1 was a success. We couldn't have asked for better weather and it was great to meet everyone. We're in the early stages of planning another for the spring. Details to follow. Here are some shots from my phone:
If I get the frame and welding finished.. Next FALL might be possible.. LOL Looked like a GREAT turnout!
Was a great day out and I'd like to thank Dennis, Brett and all those whose names I forgot five minutes after learning them for making it so. Trying to keep a dozen cars together in dense traffic with a ton of pedestrians and lights is no easy task but somehow we all managed to get to the museum and the shore - even though we arrived at the shore parking lot in two groups from opposite directions! Getting out of Newport and to the restaurant together was asking a lot and we eventually got well split up. At one point I was following my GPS with two folk trailing me but a later check of my mirror showed I was on my own. With a longish drive home I decided to call it a day and get home in daylight. Longest trip in the Electra and it didn't miss a beat. It still has a mildly disturbing tick/tap at idle but ran smooth and never overheated even in the long delay at the roadworks crossing the bridge. As we cruised through the busy Newport streets there was much picture taking and commenting from onlookers. The Electra only elicited one 'Nice Caddy!' comment Fun day. Can't wait for the next get together! Cheers! Bob
What a great day. Enjoyed meeting eveyone. Thanks to Dennis and brett for setting this up. Looking forward to the next one. Haven't driven the ole gs that much in years. Just got home and mileage total for the 2 days was over 400.
