    I just bought a 71' skylark.
Body is not bad and the trans just was rebuilt.
    Motor needs rebuilt.

My question is should I rebuild the motor or try to find one allready done? By the way I have never done any work on cars. This is my first project.

I cant wait to get started. I just dont know what to do with the motor.

When I get the car to the house i will post some pictures to see what you guys think.

    I forgot one more thing.

Does anyone have a motor to sell if you think that is what i should do?

I live in Indiana about 2 hrs north of Indy.

I would be willing to pick the motor up if it is not to far away and the right price.

Someone just offered a 350 for free within the last few days. Often seen for 2-5 hundred.

Post a thread under "Parts wanted" entitled "Buick 350 engine needed"

    Welcome to V8.

For a 350 it would be financially wiser to find a good running engine and buy it then it would be to rebuild the one you already have. Just make sure the engine you buy is in good condition, or you'd end up having to rebuild that one anyways.
    And welcome to the board.

Welcome aboard!!!! to me it would depend on how deep your pockets are and what you want to do with the car? There are at least a few shops that offer turn key 455's if you want. If you want to stay on a budget you can rebuild the 350 yourself. It's not that hard...It's nuts and bolts....If you do some research and take your time you might be surprised how easy it is. Good Luck!!
