I'll make this short. I was coming home from AutoZone in the 71 'lark after looking for a new fan clutch and was first at the light next to a Porshe 944. I went deep into the light (gotta love manual drums) his front bumper was in the middle of my door. I dropped into first just in case, but I didn't think he'd do anything. Anyway light turned green. I roll out easy, and all of a sudden he starts going by, fast. So I hit it. Shifted out of 1st at 5200 right next to him. Shifted out of 2nd, his front bumper was at my quarter. Got halfway thru third and I was about 8 car lengths ahead of him. What an adreniline rush. Eggs was sitting next to me with a grin ear to ear. He stayed behind me the next mile and a half. I went to turn off on my road, he drove by and waved. Classy guy, but he needs a rusty old Buick like me.
A Kill is a Kill....so :TU: :beer :TU: .....but I gotta ask - was it a 944 Ter-Bow ???? I used to walk my Boss's 944 (Non-Turbo) with my warmed-over '88 Turbo Coupe.....pissed him off every time
At least he was a good guy and didn't deny that his little Porshe coudln't even try to keep up with your Buick (Plus, he's not like a ricer and do a ricer fly-by and flip a finger at you). But good kill :TU:
I don't know about the turboo. I thought they all had the same goods. Besides I couldn't hear him over my flowmasters.
Sure it has to be a turbo. They don't put Porsche on the sides of the cars without ones...........they put dog!! what kind of a ying-yang would buy a Porsche without a turbo? :Brow:
Thanks! Nope, its a TH-350. It shifts a little weird. I think it might be the 20 year old shift kit. First to second is great, second to third needs improvement. When I get time I'll be putting in a B&M Shift Pak (or whatever they call it).
