They make a remote unit for the trunk with the controls hidden in the ash tray.

Hey Jim, does the unit also house a head unit/receiver? Or is it all one piece?

Not that I'm concerned....my dash was already sliced up when I bought the car:spank:

You "could" always mount it in the glove box. Outa sight outa mind kinda thinking here. I have seen several done like this for the clean look and seems to work well. Now that I think about it, the ole' glovebox would sure work nice for hiding a 2 -step and a delay box too........:Brow:

    later.........................

The whole set up I think is in the trunk except for the controls which were not visible until the ash tray was pulled out. It was in a 454 A body Chevelle.

My daily driver has one of the trunk-mount units in it. Works very well. Its a 12-disc changer with a small control panel velcro'd to the dash (about 1"x3"). It ties into the existing radio by plugging into the antenna feed. I just tune my radio to 89.1 FM & the CD comes thru nice & clear.

    What level ?

Welcome fellow '65 owner:TU: If you want to do it fairly cheaply go get a Sony boombox that has a remote and set it on the floor or the seat and your done.
Custom AutoSound makes those hidden units.
