Hello to everyone........great to be on board. After 32 years, I just realized that I have something special. On July 5, 1972 after being married for one week, I needed a NEW car, and being "old fashioned" I still wanted a car with side vent windows (just like the 1972 Buick Skylark 2-door sedan came with) but no luck, all sold out. So I did the next best thing and bought a Tudor HT Skylark with A/C...wow A/C in 1972! I drove it daily for 18 years....and then kinda forgot about it. I retired this year and was looking for something to do....and there it was.... Restore my BUICK SKYLARK. Great Net... Gotta Love It! :TU:
Welcome to the best community in carland! Can you tell more about your car, and maybe post a picture or two? Frank Brooks
Congratulations!! You had the sense to hang on to one of the best cars built. The only problem I see is that retiring does not give you any more time, so you will still need to make the time to do the car. It should be a high priority, as then the fun can begin. You will be able to cruise with the rest of us. Welcome !!!!! :3gears:
Thanks for the warm welcome.... Some info about the car. The best I can recall is that the car (1972 Buick Skylark Sport Coupe) cost about $3,250... "Out-the-Door" with a monthly payment of $49.00? Vin: 4D37H2H223--- Blt: 06/72 in Flint, Mich. The car is Antique Gold (code U) with Saddle vinyl bench seats. This is a "plain jane" model with only one option=A/C other than white walls and full wheel covers. No power brakes, no nothin'. 350-2 engine. The car is bone stock (142,666 miles) except I did put dual exhaust with "cherry bombs" on it a few years ago. Car runs like a "Bat out of H---." I still remember my wife putting down about 8ft of rubber in front of the house after our first fight when the car was only a month old. Hope to post some pictures soon...learning how to use a digital camera is a "lotta" fun. Gotta Love It! :beer
