I've been going to the PSMCDR's for nearly a decade now, but this was the first year I brought my car. After years of prodding and friendly harassment from friends like Jim Bowman, Tom Cannon, Bob Karakashian (and assorted others), I finally got off my duff and put my Challenger back to stock solely to bring it to this incredibly cool event.

First off, a big thanks to Dan, Bob and the rest of the folks who make this gig happen. I'm sure its a boatload of headaches, but it is so so so worth it. I've never seen such a great bunch of people get together with such a variety of gorgeous cars and help each other out like they've known one another forever.

Despite the rain on Saturday which halted my on chances to put Joe and his `70 GS 455 in their place at the shootout ;), I still had a blast on Friday and then of course Friday night at the Comfortable Inn. :beers2:

Speaking of the Comfortable Inn, a great big thanks to Rusty Small for giving me and my buddy Jon a last-minute place to sleep! :TU:

And another huge thank you to Frank & Karen Remlinger for their culinary expertise and making sure we were continually fed!

I usually like to spend a lot of time taking pictures of all the beautiful cars at this event, but since I had my car there this time, I was only able to grab a few with my little point & shoot camera. So, without futher blabbing on, here they are:

Hey mcford! Thanks for the kudos and it was nice meetin' ya'! Hope to see one of your FoMoCo products out there next year! :TU:

I checked out your Photobucket album of this year's event and there were some really great shots in there. :beer

Hey Dan, I never met the guy but my buddy Jim Bowman had the basic story surrounding the owner(s) and this cool/unique car. All I know is that he came an awful long way (Florida) just to race one day. :ball:

The car was stand-up beautiful, too. :TU:

I saw your Challenger ,never got a chance to speak with you.
Is your car factory correct car with blackout treatments front and rear spoilers or is it a clone?
Either way very neat 71 Challenger R/T.

    Hi Rich,

Thanks for the kind words about my Challenger! :TU:

The paint & stripes on my car are all original factory correct to the buildsheet. When I restored this car nearly 18 years ago, I ran out of money as the resto was almost finished and I didn't have enough to get the bumpers rechromed. Therefore, I sandblasted and painted them to look just like factory elastomeric "rubber" bumpers. To the untrained eye they look almost exact, but the heads of the bumper bolts give them away.

As for the spoilers... yes, I added the rear decklid "Go Wing" and front chin spoilers. But all the other blackout treatments around the grill and tail panels are the way my car came from the factory, since it is an original R/T.

Dave Bunch. Former Olds employee and Olds racer from back in the day. He said the car was running a full second slower than at Musclepalooza, which is where he just came from.

Was interesting this year as I too have attended for about ten years now and I got a glimpse behind the curtain as I helped Dale attend his first race as a competitor. All in all it was a great weekend at the track even with the moisture.

And an especially big "THANK YOU!" to wile1coyote full hauling my car out there! Without your continual prodding to make this race and your sweet truck & trailer, I'd have never made it. :beer

Thanks, Andy! It's too bad you couldn't make it out there...but it was a good year to miss if you were participating due to the Saturday rain-out. :af: I still did have a blast, though. Friday was picture-perfect weather, and Friday night was a bash and a half at the Comfortable Inn. Well worth the trip in my humble opinion. :beers2:

Hey John! My best pass was 13.38 @ 107. I was pleased. :TU: Donny listed all the pairings on this thread: http://v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=213957

Glad you made it. Maybe one day you'll be running faster Pure Stock than modified! :error:

Great pics, and great-looking Challenger! That one really pops in the colour department!

The red '64 Dodge in the first picture -- is that a 383 or Maxie car? Looks cool to see something in the staging lanes with wheel discs on it.

I know there was both at the races. One of them had a 4-speed too!

It was good seeing you too, Diego. Sorry we didn't get a chance to blab quite as much this year, but I was a great deal more busy actually having my car there this year.

My times are not that far off from when I had headers, aluminum intake and a big stall converter. Well, a little over a half second anyway. :p

Thanks for the kind words regarding my old Dodge and amateur picture taking skills. I try! :TU: That sweet red Polara was a 383-auto car.

Hey Steve! You picked a good race to miss seeing as how Saturday was a wash out. Friday was pretty spectacular, though.

Btw, thanks for the ride in your sweet Turbo T/A! That's an awesome car. Nothing quite like a 3.8 Turbo to press you back hard! :TU:
