    I purchased "banjo" bolts from Ground Up Restoration (SS396.com) to complete the brake system. The bolt head is different from the ones I took off. The new bolts have a flange head and slightly shorter; the originals are a regular hex head. Will the new ones work? Who makes the correct ones for the Buicks?

    Thanks.

    No one has a response? I want to finish the brakes and bleed the system.

    Len,
    A picture is worth a 1000 words in a case like this. Are the bolts identical otherwise? Are they the same length, and is the hole in the same place? You should be able to tell if functionally, they will work. Unless you are concourse restoring the car, who cares what the head looks like.

    I just looked in the Year One catalog. This is part # 9255N Is this closer to what you are looking for?

    Larry--Most likely that is the same bolt that ss396 (and everyone else) sells--same as the bolt GM sells....has the integral "washer" or shoulder that Len described in his inquiry. He is looking for brake bolts that do not have this shoulder on them---just like a regular bolt (where the wrench flats don't transition into anything like the one you pic'd). If the idiots at Dell would ever deliver the camera I ordered I could help further...maybe it will be here this week. I could then post a pic of what I think he is looking for. Thanks.

    Larry;

    That is the same bolt I received from SS396. It seems ok.
