Probably a dumb question, but I'll ask anyway.

Can one use any 7/16" fine thread bolt for the flex plate? I believe the stock bolts are a grade 3, so I'm thinking anything grade 3 or better would work... as long as the length is around 1/2".

    Thanks!

Yes, as long as it is the same grade or better, and it fits, sure. I'd want to use the same bolts in all positions so they are the same weight, as the flexplate rotates at high speed. I'd also use some threadlocker on them and torque them properly. Are you talking about flexplate to crank, or flexplate to torque converter?

    Thanks for the reply Larry.

I'm referring to the flexplate to crank bolts. However, it's all for not now. I've discovered that my flexplate is bent, so I need to order a new one. I'm going to set a new set of bolts as well. Kinda blows my weekend of getting the new motor installed... DANG-IT!!!!

    Thanks again,

    Phil
