I have my car stripped of all the carpet, padding and that tar paper looking stuff from the floorboards. I am ready to weld in a couple patches then the Por 15. My question is what does everybody do about replacing that heavy tar paper material? I want some kind of insulation/noise barrier as this car will be driven. Whats the recommendation here?

If you cant get it from YR1 then get it from Ames Performance Engineering (APE) they are a Pontiac company but they have the exact sound deadener that ALL GM A-bodies used.

You can get it at any local body supply joint..just ask for the sound deadner.

    It depends....
Unlimited budget, best product....use Dynomat. :eek2:
Identical, stock replacement....Ames has the paper-backed tar-product. :TU:
Just a replacement....most vendors have a rubber-type sound deadener. :boring:
Cheap, cheap....go to Home Depot/Lowes and buy a roll of the 36" wide roofing weather-guard. :bglasses:
