Don't understand the problem. This is an US small business. He took raw materials (the casting) added value by designing and making a better impeller and sells for a reasonable profit.

Or not. Both "better impeller" and "reasonable profit" are in question.

I have purchased FlowKooler pumps for Oldsmobile and for Pontiac. Bought their "disc" and modified my own Chevy pump.

The GMB castings--which were Japanese the last I'd heard, but sure, I suppose they've been farmed out to China by now--were lovely. FlowKooler grinds off the GMB casting marks. Apparently they're ashamed of their parts source.

Not too impressed by what they were selling as a "special" Pontiac pump, though. Standard Pontiac impeller that has been cut on a lathe to about 2/3 size, and then a stamped-sheetmetal piece welded to the impeller. Had to grind the rough, poor-quality welds to get clearance to the Pontiac separator plate, which performs the SAME FUNCTION as the welded shield. Whee. If I knew then what I know now, I'd never have paid the wild premium for the FlowKooler name (and disappointing product.)

Stock cast-iron Pontiac pump, came off a '73 455 core engine. Could have been original, may have been replaced at some point. No idea. FlowKooler pump has aluminum housing, cast-iron impeller.

I haven't seen a Buick version of the FlowKooler pump...but it it has straight impeller blades like the GMB as shown by photo in this thread, I'm less than impressed.

There's some valid points made there by you guys! I'm all for somebody taking "something" and making it better like GM making camaros and chevelles then finally realizing their true potential and Making buicks, GS, RIV, Electras and all the like. I know they've been making buicks forever I'm just trying to lighten the mood and stop a pissing match lol

Funny. My flowkooler isn't a GMB body. It's just an unmarked body.

Dont forget the Radiator cap and if you are using the hydrostatic fan clutch buy ONLY the AC delco OEM. I drove my car in AZ, everything was "new" including the fan clutch. The HD fan clutch was the problem. The garbage fan clutch failed to engage fully, I went trough two then I bough the OEM....not a problem since. The guy at the parts counter swore by the brand, I told him he was wrong because I compare it to my Dad's orginal OEM clutch when engine hot in 120 degree AZ desert heat., cars running side by side, same fan etc....'nough said.

Does AC-Delco MAKE a fan clutch any more?

I figured they bought them from Hayden, or another supplier.
