i am having a real tough time finding a fly wheel cover for my 65 GS. i bought the car last summer and it never had one on it. the person i bought it from i don't think ever even realized it, as he did not put much mechanical work into the car. and the owner before him trailered the car to the track and home. anyways, my question is - does this cover need to be year and engine specific. are there any other cars that you guys know of that i could use the flywheel from? thanks, Steve
lol, i suppose that info would have helped huh? ou: i've got the Super Turbine 400. one of my favorite mods done to the car.
Steve, I'll go out on a limb and say that almost any run-o-the-mill TH400 cover should (could?) work. Like a BOP TH400. HTH. Mark
yeah, I noticed the other thread after I posted here. Looks like I need to go out and find some more of these inspection covers.
I thoght this was pretty cool, check it out.. http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16501
Dunno, How about we give him until the end of this week? Then I'm all over it! Bill is a good man, I've done business with several times, he's a stand up guy and a great member of this board. Mark
I'm in no hurry and if it wasn't so damn hot here I'd go retrieve another couple covers from there dusty desert hiding places. I have a couple more back in my storage in Washington State too, but I'm not planning a trip up there until August.
i suppose i made it just in time. i'll take the cover txg. e-mail me @ angryirish1@adelphia.net to let me know how and where to send payment. thanks, Steve
flywheel cover I would like to find a flywheel cover for the 66 gs 401 with a manual trans. I saw one on ebay a few months ago. nothing since then. that might be a good one to repop.
Frank, I checked into reproducing that within the last 4-5 months. WAYYYY too expensive to do, and there are just too few that need it. Mark
oh well...... Mark, you must have an extra one laying around:Brow: I dont mind using one from a '65.
Frank, Nice try! No extra one around, but, here's a little tip if you want to repro one yourself: I know a guy who some years back wanted heater block-off plates for a 62 Bel Air 409 project. He couldn't find originals, so he borrowed some, made a mold, and made his own out of fiberglass. You really had to look to see if they weren't the real deal. Mark
