So I'm going though the car, removing the old junk and found a good build sheet behind the rear seat back. It's mostly there, the mice got some of it, but I did find most of the missing pieces. Trim 185, 78 A code car and can't wait to get it done but it's going to be a while. Found a second sheet, folded under the same seat back between the foam and the cover - not in as good a shape, but helped fill in some data missing from the other one. What does the special interior codes with the asterisk mean? Y03 / Y17?
I looked at my build sheet, also a Leed's plant car, I think this means standard on the 455 model. The package tray has the waffle type top, some cars had smooth top. Did you know that only 26 Burgundy Mist hardtop cars left the Leed's plant, with that paint and only 211 total all cars in 1970. I hope this helps you, finding the build sheet in any condition is so cool!! Rick
Hi Rick, Thanks for the info. Yes, I did know how rare this car is and was one of the reasons for the purchase. The other was that it has the numbers drivetrain and is untouched. In fact, the car has not been on the road since 1986. Here is the photo of the second build sheet found in the rear seat back (folded and may be difficult to unfold). It does have the dealer that it was originally sold to - way cool.
Did they ever build a GSX in KC?? ---------- Post added at 01:09 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:07 AM ---------- Or is that the burgundy car? The GMAD sheets were much better than Flint. They tell you more.
Hi Dave, No GSX's out of KC - Flint Production only I believe for '70 model year for sure and perhaps '71-'72 as well. These build sheets are for the new Burgundy 455, not the X. Never found the build sheet for the GSX, only the body broadcast sheet
At the factory level; No vehicle with any GSX option, ie. front spoiler, rear spoiler, hood tach, .....or stripes, was ever built anywhere but at the Flint plant. Duane
