Parts have arrived for the rear end and now it can be finished and ready to install in the chassis. I did order a few more parts as I'll have to replace the pinion seal in the GSX over the coming winter.
Nearly finished rear end - new pinion seal installed, just waiting for the yoke assembly, axles, etc. to be installed.
Been working on the chassis and have neglected posting updates here, so i'll see if I can get caught up. Parts painted and ready for assembly
Looks AWESOME! I really enjoyed doing mine, but didn't go to the extent you are, its fun and educational. Keep the pics coming!
That looks awesome! What primer/paint did you use on the frame? I just started tearing down my Suncoupe and will be painting the frame soon. Dave
Thanks guys. Dave, the paint and primer I used is the Eastwood Chassis Black Satin Extreme Epoxy. Prime first and let dry completely. Very easy to use and the results are pretty good.
Some new updates as I've been pretty bad about these lately. Engine is back from the machine shop and it is starting to go together.
Chassis with the fuel lines, motor mount pads, front control arms, etc. in place. Waiting on springs next and then I can start to assemble the front brake assembly. Original front brake drums have been rebuilt and ready to go in.
Been a while since I last posted, but the work has been going on. Here are some shots of the core support restoration. I figured I'd try and save this one.
Been a while since I posted on the progress, but here the cowl and the base of the windshield/dash area are finally fixed and welded in...
So glad I just stumbled across this thread!! Keep the updates coming. As soon as I can get a garage built I’ll be starting on mine. It’s an early build 70 GS455, burgundy mist with black vinyl top and bucket seats. I think that color really stands out at a show. Mark
Excellent work. Love to see the frame-off restoration threads. Here is my Burgundy Mist car for motivation!
