    Uncle Pauly SAY UNCLE!

I have a question for someone who knows the answer. I have a pal who will give me a set of Cragar SS rims for a good deal. They are not my favorites but will do for a while. Two are 14x7 w/4" backspace and two are 14x8 w/ 3" backspace. Will those 8" jobs fit on the back of my 65 skylark? Somehow I just figure they won't, but I really don't know much about wheels , backspacing, etc..They come with rubber 215/60 and 245/60 respectively, I don't really care about the tires. I'm just wondering, can it work and look decent?

    Thankyou Buick fans, Uncle Pauly

Pauly shore they will fit if they have a bolt circle that is 5 X 4.75" and not 5 X 5". Now if they will rub or not just tell him you would like to bolt one on to make sure.

Cragar SS style rims use offset lug washers to determine bolt circle(hole of the rim is actually Oval shaped). Now as for rubbing, that you'd probably be better off test fitting one on.

Just make sure he has both sets of washers(center hole & offset), and the right Lugs. I personally don't like the way they bolt on as the washers tend to Bend and warp, which could cause them to loosen. Make sure the Lugs shank fits tightly into the hole of the rim, there shouldn't be any side to side play... and never use a worn washer, Most tire stores should have new washers in stock.

If you get them, check torque REGULARY.
