A freind here at work has a 73 pontiac firebird with 350 and wants a "restoration manual" with detailed steps to restore his car. He says he saw one for the GTO and wants one for his car. Does anyone have ideas where he can get info for his firebird
Resto Info Check this out - GM Body and Chassis manuals are the best info out there. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2208669733&category=418
Well, just because there's one for a GTO doesn't mean there's one for a Firebird...I mean, if that were true, there would be a step by step resto manual for the GS:grin: And I don't know if I'd trust it anyway...can you imagine what a typo could do to interior or paint codes?:gt:
Get the GM service manual and find a gm parts book and parts illustration book. For a step by step book the best you can do is a Camaro restoration book. They are both F body cars and share the same basic structure. Also check out this board. Performance Years Keith
Hard to beat the assembly manuals. GTO assembly manuals have been avail for close to 15 years for '67 models, 70 models, & '71 models. The '70 & 71 assembly manual also have sheets for same year Tempest, LeMans & GrandPrixs. Usually priced from $18.95-22.95, each, from most vendors.. PY, Ames, etc. Early 2nd Gen Firebird assembly manuals have only been avail for the last year or so. Only Year One is selling them in the catalogues, , so I'm sure Y1 has an exclusive on them Each of the below, is friendly priced at $52.00 + typical Y1 gigya shipping & handling... expect to have $65-70 in it by the time you get it shipped from GA to NC :af: FM99 1973 models (Firebird T/A) assembly manual FM63 1971 models (Firebird T/A) assembly manual FM64 1970 (1970 1/2) Firebird T/A assembly manual Here's an alternative, shipping is stated at $7.00, so looking at $59.00. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2448451584&category=33615 Roger
