Well the SBB is coming along well. Got it down to this point. I wanna make sure I replace everything I should. Car was really mushy on the way home w/ the v6. what all should I replace (springs, shocks, bushings, etc) keeping in mind I wanna improve handling and the extra weight of the 350. I'd also like to upgrade the steering. so what pump should I look for?

P.S. this is for an 84 regal

I'd like specific recommendations for the suspension components please.

    Thanks,
    Dan

You will find that you can get the entire front end for cheap. Either stock type parts down at O'Reillys, Zone, Napa, etc. or poly stuff mail order. This is about labor, not parts cost. You are obviously not scared to get involved given the extent of your project. Expect stock springs to be $60-90 , and the bushings, ball joints, etc. to be maybe $150-200 total. I would upgrade the springs to V8 springs for the swap. Keep in mind that the originals have sagged substantially over the years, and even new V6 springs will likely raise the front slightly even with the V8 in the hole. I just redid my GN, and was surprised at how much higher it rides with fresh springs. Given the price and avialbility of these parts, throw out the tie rods, sleeves, idler arm too. Just lay the old parts out as an assembly on the ground. Adjust the new tie rods to the same lengths and install. This will let you get it over to the alignment shop once you get it rolling. I decided to do the body bushings, too. Figure an extra day and $100 bill for that. You will not believe the difference in the car if you change out the old stuff at one time. Good luck, Rudy E
