I have a GM front sway bar that I am trying to ID. It looks identical to our 64-72 A-body and F-body front bars, but the overall length is a little shorter, enough so it doesn't fit in my 64. It is a 1 1/4 bar. The A-body bar measures 46 3/4" eye centerline to eye centerline. The shorter bar is 44 1/4". Can anyone tell me what that short bar fits? Need to ID so I can put it up for sale. I would say the swaybar might be from a G body. I just picked up a 86 Monte Carlo SS swaybar. From eye c/l to eye c/l it is 44 1/8". It looks identical to the 67 A body swaybar but narrower. Some aftermarket companies have the same swaybar part# for the G body and A body so I thought it would fit my 67 A body. ou: Ray
Thanks Ray! That is a huge help. Same thing happened to me for my 64 but I got it powdercoated before I knew it did not fit. Now I can sell it.
