I have a 1.25 front bar and a 1.5 rear. All urethane & stuff. Do people notice a big difference in ET, 60 foot times, etc. when dumping the front bar? Will a journey to the track with no front bar be freaky & weird? Thanx.
You'll probably notice a difference driving around on the street. As far as on the track, you'd probably only pick up .03 or so at best if it weighs 30 lbs and using the 100 lbs. per tenth of a second rule.
I have heard removing the rear bar does help on the track with traction. although you'd most likely need an airbag in the rear spring. I've never heard about loosing the front helping however. -nate
When I was racing before, I took the front sway bar off so the front end would be more independent. Left side would lift quicker than right side and I got better weight transfer, and more air. On the track, it wasn't a problem, driving on the street, it didn't corner as well, but I didn't care about the street cornering ability.
I think you guys are missing the point. Disconnecting the endlinks at the track will let the front end rise easier. Loosening the control arm pivots and using 90/10 shocks helps in the same way. Driving around with no front bar and a healthy rear bar will cause oversteer in a panic situation, so the handling wouldn't be as sure.
